While I do have some experience in traditional costume construction, I am much more practiced in aging existing pieces and construction with EVA foam. I enjoy painting with metallics, doing faux rust, and applying fake blood/other stains.
These are one pair of many monster themed gloves I have made for my haunt. The claws are made from EVA foam glued securely to the work gloves, I then added detailing using Rub ‘n Buff and fabric puff paint.
These syringe gloves are my favorite pair I have made so far. I cast the syringes out of polyurithane as to be safe for guests, I also used some old plastic tubing, worbla, FEV, and puff paint to complete the look.
Weathered clothing is a staple for haunted houses. For this lab coat I sprayed it down with multiple colors of paint, focusing on the parts that would likely to dirty faster when a coat like this would be in use. Then I gave it a healthy spattering of perma blood, and for a final touch a bloody hand print, placed where a “patient” would be likely to resist - a personal favorite of mine.
This airsoft mask was one of my first pieces and I believe it still holds up well today. I used a dry sponging technique to give a believable rust, and then applied perma blood and FEV to give it a disgusting pop
This suit of armor I nicknamed ‘Rustbucket’ was a refurbish piece from a previously well worn older costume. I replaced some sections of foam, nearly all the strapping, added new greebling and tubes to the helmet. After I gave it a fresh rusty paint job and gave it some stenciling.
These werewolf shoes are designed for my haunt’s stunt crew, and thus needed to be light, simple, and low profile. They are based on a tennis shoe with toes molded in foam over top and painted to blend in with their wolf costumes.
